Sure enough, it's daylight in the swamp again!  Plus one outside this morning.  We had a rapid melt down yesterday afternoon, hopefully the weatherman is wrong and it will continue again today.
Our little city in their wisdom, decided it was more important to try and haul melting snow away!  Rather than grade the streets of the slush to the edge, where it could melt on it's own accord, and then drain away.  No they prefer that it should again freeze in clumps and tracks making things dangerous for travel especially at intersections and crosswalks, especially dangerous for pedestrians.  The money they spent tying up two graders, trucks, loaders and the drivers, could have graded all the streets in our little city.  Plus they could have made sure all the side walks were cleaned off.  Many of our seniors walk to the mail daily.
I find it simply amazing, that the people that are hired to make these management decisions cannot or will not make the effort to look outside.  Or is this a case of our elected officials not allowing the city's hired managers, to have the flexibility to change decisions, on a moments notice!  Sometimes I wonder if the effort of our politically elected officials, and their agenda to make sure of their re-election, ends up costing us more money.  Which in turn, looks like a whole bunch of stupidity some days!
Susan is busy doing some more de-clutering of her kitchen cupboards, and then she will be onto painting.  It will be my job to pack up the boxes and put them in the garage for transport to value village.  I believe they are mostly glasses that we never use, hopefully they will get recycled to another family.  I also have one more door to start working on, the trim work between the living room and the kitchen.  Hopefully I can get the top of it done tonight when Susan is at work.
Well it's time for me to get back at it, and help with my part of Building the Simple life....................
