Now that the second coat has fully cured, I have another 15 minutes or so of prep work to spend in there. This is to peel back the plastic on the tub edge, where the starter row of tile will go. After Susan leaves for work, I will fire up the portable heater in the front garage and set up the wet saw. All that will be left for me to do then, is to bring my big drill from the back garage. This Derek will need when he is mixing the mortar (adhesive) for putting the tile on.
Is every thing else ready for Derek, where's my list? Beer cooling, check. All dressed chips, check. Verns pizza delivery on speed dial, check. Daughter-in-law coming to supervise (Susan's at work), check. There I think all the bases are covered for the day! When Susan is finished work for the day, we are hoping to have the tiling completed. We will then be able to sit down with family, relax with food and drinks. Perhaps the grand daughters may be here as well, I am not sure what there plans were for the weekend.
After my head settled down yesterday afternoon, I removed the old end panels in the kitchen's sunshine ceiling. To my amazement, I discovered material left from the original build. Why trades people can not clean up after themselves is simply amazing to me. When I went to cut the pieces I needed, I could not find this one complete panel I was sure I had. After a lot of contemplating, and when I was installing one of the short ones I almost dropped another one. I thought if I drop one I'll break one like I did before. Then the light went on!!!!!!! I used the full sheet to replace the one I had shattered some time before! Like, duhh! Oh well! Talk about giving oneself another headache. I have to remember, breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out. Relaxation technique. Does it help? No! But it makes people smile, and sometimes laugh, and you know laughter is the best medicine. And if we can laugh at our selves, then it takes our minds off of our pain, even if it's just for a short while.
Last night Donald took me out for supper at the Sport's Page, (steak night) it was guys night out! It was a quiet relaxing time, it wasn't even packed at the bar! First time for that. This morning we shall sneak out for coffee where we can catch up on the weeks top gossip (headlines), I can not believe I said that out loud. We have found out it is also, very important to be informed of what is happening around us locally, so we can make our decisions wisely, while Building the Simple life..............
