Yesterday turned into a very traumatic day for me, but I somehow persevered.  What could have served up such drama in my life?  Somehow our little expedition into the big city of Saskatoon, took longer than we had anticipated.  Susan and I ended up over on the South side, where our son Derek works to pick out our supplies.  These included our waterproofing material, grout, and tile edging.
Now this should not be such a big deal, but it only left us 15 minutes for Susan to drive home from the south side, and for her to get ready for work.  The car needed unpacking, her lunch needed to be made for work.  Susan also needed to have a bite to eat for lunch.  This all had to happen before she stepped out of the door, and was once again on her way back to work.  Somehow this mission was accomplished!
Now the real 'stress' of the day began!  To keep on schedule for our tile laying project this weekend, this left the painting and prep work up to me.  What a day!  Somehow with a couple of phone calls and numerous breaks I managed to get the job accomplished.  So today, I get to repeat the process, with a little less stress.  Possibly it should go a bit quicker, I just have to remember to brush in a 90 degree direction to yesterday.  This is to insure maximum coverage and protection.  When Susan came home home late last night she gave the first coat the the CEO's good coat seal of approval!  Perhaps this means I will be able to actually paint something for real inside the house.  NOT!!
Yesterday when we were in the big city, we went over to the east side to Ronas, (our version of Lowes) so I could pick up a air stapler. (probably this is why we were late)  We also found our replacement lights for our fixtures in the house.  Our old bulbs were warm (yellow), we wanted a cool light (white),  finally someone here is carrying them, so we didn't have to order them online.
After I finish with the second coat of waterproofing, and let's not forget my cleanup!  I shall read up on all the settings, on my new air stapler.  I have four end panels that need replacing in Susan's sunshine ceiling.  These overlook her breakfast nook.  All the other panels have been replaced, and just lay in place.  The end panels have to be cut to size and are stapled in place.  Thus the reason I was watching for a stapler to come on sale!
I see it is becoming daylight in the swamp, Susan has long ago left for work.  She had a short change over again, so I shall surprise her and do the second coat in the bathroom. (she expects to come home and do the second one)  First I shall make myself a quick breakfast to start my day, go over my list just to make sure I have every thing organized.  After all the final count down is now on for this weekend and we have to keep the free help happy when you are Building the Simple life..............
